What this site is, what it is not, and what the information on it does and does not mean for you.
We are not an agency, a clinic, or a law firm
Surrogate Compass is an educational and prequalification platform. We do not screen candidates medically, perform or supervise any medical procedure, draft or review contracts, or match intended parents. Those are done by independent agencies, clinics and attorneys. Nothing on this site is medical or legal advice, and reading it does not create a professional relationship of any kind.
Nothing here is an offer of compensation
Compensation figures published on this site are educational ranges drawn from cited sources, with the date they were checked. They are not offers, guarantees, averages you can expect, or predictions about what you would be paid. Actual compensation is set in an individual legal contract negotiated between the parties, and it varies by program, state, experience and terms.
Eligibility is decided by other people
Our eligibility tools are preliminary only. They indicate how your answers compare with criteria programs commonly start from. They do not qualify you, and they do not bind any program. Final eligibility is determined by an agency and its clinic after medical, psychological, legal and background screening.
Requirements and law vary, and they change
Surrogacy law, parentage rules, insurance treatment and clinic criteria differ by state and by program, and they are amended over time. Information here is general and carries the date it was last reviewed. For your own situation, speak to a clinician and to an attorney licensed in your state.
How we are paid
It never costs you anything to use this site. We may be paid by a participating partner program when you choose an introduction or reach a referral milestone. That does not mean a program is right for every candidate, and it never changes what we publish. We do not share your information with any program without telling you its name and obtaining your written consent for that specific program.
Medical emergencies
This site is not monitored for urgent medical issues and cannot respond to them. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. For a medical concern that is not an emergency, contact your own clinician.
These boundaries are also summarised at the foot of every page of this site. See our editorial policy for how Surrogate Compass researches, sources and reviews what it publishes, and our privacy policy for how your information is handled.
